Our Story
Back in 2017, I was heading into my 2nd semester of nursing school at NEMCC. Kyle was heading into his second round of the 2nd semester of nursing school (I’m not dragging him! It’s just part of the story!) A few days into class, I found myself going to the skills lab after lecture seeking some help. I’ve never been one to ask for help or ever admit that I didn’t know something; however, skills check offs were coming up and I simply had no clue how to spike and prime an IV bag. When I walked into the room, there were scattered groups of people working on that same skill. In the 1st semester of nursing school, the closest I had gotten to making a friend was speaking to a girl named Allie a few times and I had only been brave enough to do that because I realized we were two of the youngest people in our class. She happened to be one of the people practicing this skill and she welcomed me in to watch and learn. Unbeknownst to me, however, my shy and timid self had somehow caught the attention of someone else in this room. Turns out, Kyle had grown up with Allie and they were basically like brother and sister. At some point while I was hopelessly trying to get the air bubbles out of my tubing, Kyle had walked over to Allie, pointed at me, and said “Who is that?” (When he told me about this encounter at a later time, he was even able to tell me the exact outfit I had on that day.) By the next week, Allie was very adamant about me coming to her house for “study group.” I was pretty hesitant at first considering I didn’t know her or the other people very well plus I had never been a “study group” type of person. She finally convinced me and so one afternoon I headed off to Allie’s house in Corinth. And who else do you think was there? That’s right. Kyle Webb! Over the next 6 months through the 2nd semester of nursing school I spent the majority of my time with this study group. Kyle and I became good friends very quickly. At least that’s what I thought was going on! Meanwhile, everyone else in the study group knew that there was something more going on and made it their mission to get Kyle and I together. Even my mom realized that I seemed to always be talking about “Kyle from study group.” After the semester ended, Kyle and I went on what I guess I would refer to as our first date. Shortly after that day, Kyle got brave enough to confess his undying love me for me and walked me through his perspective of the past 6 months. Hearing this was a little shocking at first but also relieving considering I had started to realize that I was feeling the same way about him. A week or so after that conversation, Kyle did officially ask me to be his girlfriend and then almost 4 years later he asked me to marry him! Now here we are 5 years later and we are both so excited to celebrate our upcoming marriage with you!
